Solaris

Mixed media on canvas

Solaris 1 - 75x150

Solaris 2 - 40x60

In this canvas a star shines, floating in a celestial landscape of serene colours. The artist seeks to suggest, under an apparent quietness, the complex meanderings of the human soul (abysses even more disturbing than the depths of Solaris).

An ornate texture fills the canvas, breaking the dynamic equilibrium of the dominant circular shapes and creating a line of force which interrupts and balances the composition. The work depicts a distant memory of places interwoven with myth, evoking sublime moments of fascination - Solaris.

This canvas is contained in the catalogue of the Albuquerque e Lima Gallery, where it is available for purchase.
