Chess 2 - acrylic on canvas - amamede´s painting

Chess 2 (xadrês)

Acrylic on canvas

80x105

Curved lines are dominant in this canvas, framing elements of surreal fantasy. In addition to achieving graphisms of unexpected design (in which the random is rich in suggestion) the artist seeks to establish unexpected rhythms. This effect is achieved by creating chromatic contrasts and abstract backgrounds upon which esoteric forms float, spaces are reinvented and reality is transfigured into dreamworld locations. The title of the work is explained by the four vaguely recognisable chessboards. This canvas is contained in the catalogue of the Albuquerque e Lima Gallery, where it is available for purchase.
